This publication forms Part G of Volume 2 of the Catalogue of the Edinburgh University Collection of Historic Musical Instruments. It describes all the bagpipes, practice chanters and related items in the Collection. These include practice chanters, Scottish smallpipes, Northumbrian smallpipes, miniature Highland bagpipes, Highland bagpipes and reel-pipes, Lowland and Border bagpipes, 'Pastoral' bagpipes, Union pipes, non-British bagpipes, and miscellaneous bagpipe-related items. The descriptions were written by Sarah Deters, with contributions by Hugh Cheape and Graham Wells. The book is illustrated with 66 full-colour photographss by Antonia Reeve.
