Purpose of the Portfolio

Edinburgh University Collection of Historic Musical Instruments has published, March 1999, a portfolio of drawings drafted by Raymond Parks with accompanying pictures from photographs by Antonia Reeve.

The 44 mouthpieces have been selected from the Collection's holdings by the following criteria:

Two fascicles of the Catalogue of the Collection describe these and other mouthpieces:

The drawings are provided on acetate sheets for ease of comparison by overlaying. They are also provided on diskette as GIF files for further use.

The drawings show only the interior of the mouthpieces. Information about the exteriors is provided by the accompanying pictures.

The price of the Portfolio of Drawings of Mouthpieces for Brass Instruments is 55 pounds sterling

The groups of 4-7 drawings can be purchased separately. The ten groups are as in the list above. The price of each group of Drawings of Mouthpieces for Brass Instruments is 10 pounds sterling

There is no discount on mouthpiece drawings.

It is recommended that the relevant fascicles of the Catalogue should also be purchased.

Copies of the photographs listed above are available for study purposes, price 11.75 pounds sterling for each 254mm x 203mm (10-inch x 8-inch) black-and-white professional quality print. This price does not include reproduction rights. Photographs can be taken of other views and details by arrangement. Copies of radiographs of some mouthpieces can be supplied.

Orders must be accompanied by remittance. Prices include VAT (where applicable) and surface postage.
