HISTORIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS IN THE EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY COLLECTION
Catalogue of the Edinburgh University Collection of Historic Musical Instruments
Edited by Arnold Myers
Volume 2 :: The Descriptions (in 27 Fascicles)
Volume 2 of the Catalogue `Historic Musical Instruments in the Edinburgh University Collection' has replaced the series of Check Lists published in the early 1980s.
This catalogue consists of fascicles of text describing the instruments in detail (available in both printed and electronic versions).
The printed version of Volume 2 is being produced in a series of A4 size booklets, suitable in format for purchasers to gather and have bound in parts.
The text of the descriptive fascicles can also be sent by e-mail.
The data in the ASCII versions are given with systematically tagged field names or abbreviations to allow users to enter all or part of the data into their own databases.
The cataloguing objectives, principles, and procedures are described in
Cataloguing Standards for Instrument Collections,
Pages 14-28 from CIMCIM Newsletter No. XIV, 1989
